Hallowe’en Post Mortem
Although just over 2, this is Stewie’s third halloween. His first, at barely 3 weeks old, he dressed as a cheetah, and snuggled in a pouch the entire night. It was Linus’ second halloween, and he dressed as a lion. I put on some cat ears and whiskers, and we were a feline trio.
Last year, Stewie dressed up, but, at just over 1, he still didn’t walk, and didn’t really get it. Linus, on the other hand, did get it.
This year, Stewie got it. Oh, did he get it.
We left at about 6:30, joined by a neighbour and his 2 kids. We went to a house or 2 and then joined up with Linus’ best friend’s family, who we’ve gone with every year.
They were very cute, of course, going door to door.
At about 7:30, Linus announced that he didn’t want to trick or treat anymore. He climbed into the stroller, and there he remained for the rest of the evening. At this point, however, Stewie was just getting started! He was running up to all the houses (mostly on his own, he didn’t want either myself or The Taxman to go with him!) and standing there while they gave him stuff. He asked them to open his bag, he shook his smarties boxes…he said thank you. And then he headed off to the next house.
At 8:15, Stewie was still going, running from house to house. We had to drag him home, complaining. Yet another indication of the complete difference in my children.
